Mavine Graham Goss, age 73 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Wheeler County on December 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Gertrude Myers Graham. Mrs. Goss was retired from Clarkesville Mill and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, word find puzzles and making others laugh. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goss was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Goss, Jr.; brother, William Graham. Surviving are daughters Teresa Goss and Rita Goss both of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Frank Daniel and Rosemary Goss of Mt. Airy; brothers, Wendell Graham of Orlando, FL, Edward Graham of Webster, FL and Ronald Graham of Winchester, WV; sisters, Christine Wood of Covington, Joyce Garwood of Covington and Joan Schenk of Yakima, WA; grandchildren, Allan Goss of Mt. Airy and Chelsea Goss of Athens; great grandchildren, Brianna Goss, Hunter Goss and Brentlee Robinson; also surviving are a host of other friends and relatives. Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, August 02, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Paris Whitworth and Rev. Jerry Vandiver officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Saturday and also 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Sunday.
