Melissa Hubbard Gosnell Rodriguez, age 35, of Alto, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on January 23, 1977, in Demorest, GA, she was a daughter of Donald Hubbard of Lula and Deborah Gosnell of Alto and the adopted daughter of James Leon Gosnell. Ms. Rodriguez was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed her niece and two nephews, facebooking, texting, writing poetry and watching movies.
Ms. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frank Moore and her paternal grandmother, Laura Gosnell.
Survivors include her mother, Deborah Gosnell of Alto; father and step-mother, Donald and Rita Hubbard of Lula; adoptive father, James Leon Gosnell of New York; fiancé, Rene Hernandez of Alto; sisters, Heather Hopkins Raya of Cornelia and Deirdre Paige Hubbard of Duluth; maternal grandmother, Alice Ward of Cornelia; paternal grandparents, A. J. and Rosie Hubbard of Demorest; niece, Yasmina Maravilla; nephews, Kyler Hopkins, Ivan Raya Hopkins, and one on the way; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart. Interment will follow in the Nix Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the service hour on Friday.
