Michael “Corey” Allen, age 53, of Alto, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Born on April 17, 1969, in Gainesville, he was a son of Lela Torgesen Wade and the late David Michael Allen. Corey served with various police and sheriff’s departments around Northeast Georgia for the past 30 plus years. Corey also worked in private security, in the mid-west, for a two year period. He was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed listening to music in his spare time.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Lela and Danny Wade of Alto; son, Michael Connor Allen of Gainesville; daughter and her husband, Brittney Lee Shields (Benjamin) of Clarkesville; step-daughter, Zadie Keegan Pitts of Cornelia; brothers, Neal Allen of Louisville, Kentucky, and Eric Allen of Toccoa; sister, Rebecca Allen of San Diego, California; companion, Jandon Allen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 9 am until the service hour on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
Memorial services will follow at 10 am on Thursday in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart, with Rev. Robert Nix officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 725 Cornelia, GA 30531, to assist with final expenses.
