Michael Clyde Stamey, age 63, of Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Born on July 24, 1956, in Demorest, he was a son of the late Clyde and Ruby Stamey. Michael had a sweet spirit and was very respectful. He loved all and enjoyed helping others. Michael also enjoyed crafts, Bingo, and Bible School. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Cindy Stamey of Clarkesville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ronnie Arrowood of Demorest; special aunt, Mary Ruth Stephens of Demorest; niece, Allison Stamey of Clarkesville; nephews, Justin Anderson and wife, Beth of Demorest and Jonathan Arrowood of Demorest; and great-nephews: Dalton Cobb, Gabriel Anderson, Brody Anderson, Landon Arrowood, and Jonah Anderson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 2, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Phillips and Rev. Chad Holbrooks officiating. Interment will follow in Clarkesville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the funeral home.
