Michael Thurston Dodd, age 57, of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Born on February 6, 1958, in Hall County, Georgia, he was the son of Thurston Dodd of Lula and the late Mary Alice Smith Dodd. Mr. Dodd was employed with Thurston Dodd Welding Shop for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Harley Davidson’s, photography and drafting in his spare time.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by grandparents, Walter A. and Irene Smith and Travis and Esther Dodd.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Keshia and Jonathan Jaworski of Baldwin; grandchildren, Klohie and Fisher Jaworski of Baldwin; father and friend, Thurston Dodd and Pat Burns of Lula; sister, Belinda Bryson of Lula; girlfriend, Ella Lou Wade of Lula; ex-wife, Jeanette Dodd of Alto; niece and husband, Tabatha and Brian Gerrin of Alto; nephews, Clifford Bryson of Lula and Caleb Wade of Alto; niece, Edena Bohannon of Alto; great nieces, Mary and Virginia Gerrin of Alto.
Funeral services are 2 pm Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph O. Smith and Rev. Jacob Armour officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.
