Mildred Montez Brady, age 77 of Baldwin, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina on December 07, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Louie Whit and Annie Mae Funk Carmon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brady was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mamie Renee Brady; brothers, James L. Carmon and Louie G. Carmon.
Mrs. Brady was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church and was retired from Habersham County School System as a dietician with 16 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and planting flowers.
Survivors include husband of 47 years, Jewel “Buddy” Brady of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, Jewel H., Jr. “Bo” and Cindy Brady of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda & Charlie Childs of Toccoa; sisters-in-law, Eloise Carmon of Gainesville and Betty Carmon of Athens; grandchildren, Christopher, Chandler and Clayton Childs & Carmon and Ashlyn Brady.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in Leatherwood Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday.
