NANCY PARALEE ALLEN BURTON, age 74 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 04, 2013 at the home of her daughter following an extended illness.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on February 27, 1938, she was a daughter of the late James Roy and Willa Eller Allen. Mrs. Burton was a loving wife, mother, granny, and was known as “Aunt Sister” or “Granny” by friends and family. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jody Burton of the Home, son and daughter-in-law, Ricky & Sue Burton, Cleveland, GA; sons, Randy Burton, Stanley Burton, both of Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon & Stacy Jones, Clarkesville, GA; daughters, Faye Gordon, Clayton, GA; Tammy Armour, Demorest, GA; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, & nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 07, 2013 at the Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
