PAUL GLENN MURPHY, age 66 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on July 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Howard & Monteen Suggs Murphy. Mr. Murphy enjoyed listening to Country music, especially Johnny Cash. His favorite female singer was Dolly Partin. Mr. Murphy also enjoyed watching westerns and was a true John Wayne fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Armour.
Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Chapella & Bill Ferguson, Fellis & Johnny Mize, Leona Armour, Audrey Erwin, & her companion, Tony Shirley all of Cornelia; aunt, Bobbie Harrison of Cornelia, uncle, Erford Harrison of Cleveland, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
