Pearl H. Allen, age 88 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on January 19, 1924 in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Naoma Holcomb. Mrs. Allen was a retired clerical assistant with Scovill Manufacturing and was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, quilting, reading and working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Allen; sisters, Mae Knight and Pauline Rogers.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, David and Patsy Allen of Demorest; daughter, Elaine Porter of Clarkesville; brothers, Lawrence Holcomb of Atlanta, J.D. Holcomb of Cornelia, and Homer Holcomb of Mt. Airy; sister, Ethel Bristol of Sautee, and Oma Lee Crawford of Surgoinsville, TN; grandchildren, Seth and SusAnn Allen, Sy and Beth Allen, and Shea Allen; great grandchildren, Bralen Allen and Brantley Allen.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Mrs. Joan Curtis and Rev. Brent Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
