Ray M. Gerrells, age 72 of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
Born in Cleveland, Georgia on December 5, 1945, he was a son of the late Herman and Bessie Lou Pilgrim Gerrells. Mr. Gerrells was retired from K&L Cab Company and was of the Methodist faith. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, reading, social media and computer games.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Brenda and Linda Gerrells.
Survivors include his daughters, Tina Maye and Bonnie Gerrells both of Cornelia; brothers, Danny Gerrells of Cornelia, Ed Gerrells of Tennessee, Bill Gerrells of Cleveland and Richard Gerrells of Gainesville; sisters and brother-in-law, Mollie and Jerry Johnson of Cleveland, Lillie Ash of Mt. Airy and Sara Moore of Cleveland; grandchildren, Joshua Maye of Demorest, Christopher Maye, Brandon Maye, Devon Gerrells, Ethan Gerrells and Zada Baird all of Cornelia; great grandchildren, Eli, Khaya, CJ, Jolie and Brayden.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Garvis Kinsey and Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Pastor Mike Garroutte officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
