Rennie McEntire Tomlin, age 97, of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on April 12, 1917 in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late John Roland and Carrie Groves McEntire. Mrs. Tomlin was a member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, baking cakes, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Tomlin; sisters, Daisy McEntire Addison, Burches McEntire Gerrin, Edith McEntire and Myrtle McEntire Addis; brothers, John Henry McEntire, Claude McEntire, Robert Lee “Lemuel” McEntire, Reeves McEntire and Lewis McEntire.
Survivors are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 3 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Rev. Chester Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
