Robert E. “Bob” Taylor, age 84 of Alto, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Habersham County Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County on February 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Nevet and Connie Holcomb Taylor. He was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass as a machine maintenance worker and also retired from Fieldale Corporation as an electrician. Mr. Taylor was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. He attended Bethesda Congregational Holiness Church and enjoyed witnessing to others about the Bible. He also was an avid gardener.
Survivors include wife, Gervis K. Taylor of the home; son, Robert “Eddie” Taylor of Anderson, SC; step-son, Anthony Scott Loggins of Florida; sister, Janet Parker of Clarkesville.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor John Graham and Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Zion United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.
