Ronald Meeks, age 60 of Clarkesville, passed away June 07, 2012, at Emory University.
Born in Habersham County on January 28, 1952, he was a son of Evelyn Waddell Meeks of Clarkesville and the late Joseph “Odell” Meeks. Mr. Meeks was a truck driver for 35 years and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was an avid gun enthusiast having enjoyed coon hunting and deer hunting. He also was a NASCAR fan. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Jeffrey Meeks; grandson, Joseph Maxwell Meeks and father-in-law, Dan Martin.
Surviving are wife of 38 years, Donna Meeks of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Alison & Eric Peppers of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Leslie Meeks of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Cathy Meeks of Turnerville; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Renee, Shelby and Alexis Meeks and Caroline Peppers; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Martin of Hollywood; longtime family friend, Winona Young of Toccoa; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 4:00 pm Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Wright and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Saturday.
