Ronnie Gene “Boo-Boo” Marcus, age 56 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on July 11, 1957, he was the son of the late Henry Houston Marcus and the late Martha Coalley James. Mr. Marcus was employed as an inspector with Kubota Manufacturing for almost seven years and also a former used car salesman with LaPrade’s Used Cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was a former driver at Toccoa Motor Speedway. Even though he was handicapped, Mr. Marcus never let this challenge be discouraging. He was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed fishing and cooking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Lee Marcus and stepmother, Brunell Fitzgerald Marcus.
Surviving are sisters, Melinda Rich of Mt. Airy, Bonnie Canup of Demorest, Evelyn Higgins of Clarkesville, Shannon (Ben) Brown of Baldwin; brothers, Jimmy (Joann) Marcus of Demorest and David (Jennifer) Marcus of Cleveland; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2- 4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday.
