Sandra Luthi Black, age 62, of Clarkesville, GA, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Toccoa, GA on October 17, 1948, she was a daughter of the late J.B. and Velma McClellan Luthi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry “Old Man” Black; son, Jody Black; sister, Mary Ann Martin. Mrs. Black was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include daughters, Melissa Brown of Clarkesville and Mandy Black of Clarkesville; brothers, Mitchell Luthi of Clarkesville and Michael Luthi of Alto; sisters, Darlene Arrowood of Demorest, Rachel Waddell of Alto and Karen Adams of Oakwood; 6 grandchildren, Nicole East, James Brown, Keith Brown, Dustin Black, Isabell Black and Miranda Alford; 3 great-grandchildren, Seth East, Winter East and Casen Brown; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 3:30 pm Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will follow at B.C. Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Wednesday.
