Shelby Jean Galloway Kimbrell, age 72, of Clarkesville, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on July 4, 1941, in Homer, GA, she was a daughter of the late James Weldon and Angie Lee Odom Galloway. Mrs. Galloway was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilkie Winston Kimbrell; daughters, Angela Marie Kimbrell, Jackie Lynn Kimbrell, Fonda Leola Hubbard and Bonnie Denise Salazar; grandchildren, David Lance Garcia and Danielle Brittany Lynn Hubbard; brother, Donald Edward Galloway.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Tommy W. & Shelia Arnot Kimbrell of Eastanlollee; daughter, Teresa Kimbrell Hopkins of Clarkesville; brothers, Jim Galloway of Cornelia and Andy Galloway of North Carolina; sisters, Patricia & Harold Elsea of Columbus, GA, Maxine Galloway of Cornelia, Mary & Stan Brotherton of Hollywood, Martha Brock & Bodie Williamson of Commerce, Sheila Galloway and Sarah Galloway; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, September 13, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday.
