SOLON DOUGLAS “DOUG†SCRUGGS, JR., age 62 of Cornelia, Georgia died on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
Born in Tampa, Florida on November 19, 1951, he was a son of the late Solon Douglas Scruggs, Sr. and the late Julianne Sackett Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs was formally of Spartanburg, SC where he graduated from Spartanburg High School. Doug spent most of his working life in wholesale plumbing supplies.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Scruggs; sister and brother-in-law, Julianne & Steve Eller of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Lynn Scruggs of Spartanburg, SC; nieces, Katybeth Eller of Chattanooga, TN; Sara Scruggs of Spartanburg, SC; and nephew, Korey Eller of Murphy, NC.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia.
