STELLA S. THOMPSON age 94 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on November 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Emory & Julia Beck Stephens. Mrs. Thompson retired from Ethicon Johnson & Johnson and then worked 20 years at K-Mart. She was a strong Christian woman and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thompson, brothers, Crawford, James, & Lindsey Stephens.
Survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Brenda Adams of Cornelia, Judy & Jack Broome of Mt. Airy, sons & daughters-in-law, Billy & Virginia Thompson, Jimmy & Janie Thompson, all of Cornelia; sister, Edna Payne of Winder; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, & special caregiver, Joyce Little.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattahoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
