Timothy Shawn “Tim” Strait, age 52 of Clarkesville, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017.
Born in Gainesville, Georgia on September 26, 1964 he was a son of Regina Bacon Strait of Clarkesville and the late Ronald E. Strait. Mr. Strait was a self employed truck driver and enjoyed fishing and drawing. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tony V. Strait.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, Joe Strait and Andy Strait both of Clarkesville; sister and brother-in-law, Laura & Dennis Bearce of Lavallete, WV; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.
