Tommie Oliver Thompson, age 74 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away Friday, July 20, 2012.
Born in Miami, Florida on February 14, 1938 he was a son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Michaels Thompson. He was a former volunteer policeman with the City of Cornelia and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Thompson had resided in the Habersham area since moving from Gwinnett County in 1999.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by his wife, Donny Sue “Donna” Hall Thompson; son, Tommie Joe Thompson.
Surviving are daughters, Terri Mulkey of Covington, Georgia and Toni Crawford of Clarkesville, Tennessee; brother, Claude Thompson of Cleveland; sisters, Ruth Wood of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Mae Chance of Buford, Pat Thrasher of Buford and Katherine Coffee of Lawrenceville; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Broadlawn Memorial Cemetery (5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, Georgia 30518) with Pastor Eric Hulsey officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tommie Thompson Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 725, Cornelia, GA 30531.
