MRS. VIEDITH GAILEY SIMMONS, age 85 of Alto, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 03, 2012 at a private healthcare facility following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on July 22, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Connie Ruth Gailey Dodd. Mrs. Simmons was retired after over 30 `years as an Inspector with Chicopee & Ethicon Corporation. She enjoyed site seeing, trips to Mrs. Annette Blackburn’s Beauty Shop, and most of all spending time with her family. Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Alto Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Simmons, son, Keith Douglas Simmons, brother and sister-in-law, Billy & Christine Dodd, brothers, Jimmy & Donnie Dodd.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Kristy & Josh Hallford, Demorest, GA; Nick & Paloma Simmons, El Paso, TX; Blake Simmons, Cleveland, GA; sister-in-laws, Evelyn Dodd, Banks County, GA; Ann Dodd, Clarkesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, & friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 from the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, Georgia with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
