Virginia Dorsey

Virginia Ernestine Stephens Dorsey, age 87, of Alto, passed away Tuesday, February 04, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on February 05, 1926, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Charity Stephens. Mrs. Dorsey was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was retired from Potter and Brumfield. She volunteered with Northeast Georgia Medical Center and loved to cook, especially tea cakes.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Dorsey was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dorsey; brother, Edward Stephens.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Mickler of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rita Dorsey of Winder; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Christine Stephens of Clermont; grandchildren and spouses, Laura and Chris Nix and Stephen and Crystal Dorsey; great grandchildren, Adam Nix, Mary Beth Smith and Thayne Dorsey; great-great grandchild, Elaina Smith.
Funeral services are 11 am Thursday, February 06, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Loyd Martin, Rev. Wayne Hicks and Rev. John Umberhant officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
