Vita Melders Brown, age 85 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, August 01, 2010.
Born in Riga, Latavia on June 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Janis Melders. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking and knitting. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Lindsey Brown, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-laws, Rev. Henry & Reta Brown of Hampton, GA and Rev. Larry & Annie Brown of Clarkesville; also surviving are three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 04, 2010, at Old Brasstown Baptist Church, 7293 Hwy 66, Young Harris, GA 30582 with Rev. Henry Brown and Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 855 Abutment Road, Suite 6, Dalton, GA 30721.
