Wallace L. Smith, age 73 of Lula, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Geneva County, Alabama, on March 25, 1939, he was a son of the late Walter Wallace and Nellie Mae Moss Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Maysville Baptist Church and was retired from Emro Marketing. He enjoyed yard work, horses, fishing, and collecting guns and antiques.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Moss and Etheline Jones; brother-in-law, Robert Childree.
Survivors include wife, Mollie Ann Peacock Smith of Lula; son, Larry Howard of Beulah, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Wally and Chris Smith of Colorado; daughter, Maykie Blevins of Lula; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd and Theresa Smith of Turin, Georgia and Terry and Marilyn Smith of Phoenix City, Alabama; sister, Lois Childree of Phoenix City, Alabama; also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
