Wayne Wilson, age 81, of Lula, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022.
Born on November 2, 1940, in Gillsville, he was a son of the late Hallie “H.A.” Wilson and Monteen Skelton Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve, 802 Artillery Ammunition Ordinance out of Gainesville. He was a lifelong native of Lula where he owned and operated Wayne Wilson Pottery. Wayne was of the Baptist faith and loved his children and family. He especially enjoyed the pottery business and all of the associations he had along the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Wilson and sister, Jane Stewart.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Gary W. Wilson, Jr. and Lorri of Braselton; daughter, Wendy Wilson of Lula; sonly employee, Jona Robinson; brothers, Jimmy Wilson of Flowery Branch and Ricky Wilson of Lula; sister, Doris Hill of Cornelia; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Gary W. Wilson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lula, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the funeral home.
