William Boyd “Hoppy” Barrett, age 60, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Sunday, October 02, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Towns County on March 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Boyd and Faye Abernathy Barrett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Hales.
Mr. Barrett was employed with Gamco as a welder and was of the Christian faith. He had lived most of his life in Habersham County.
Survivors include sons, Paxton Barrett of Athens and Gary Ramey of Demorest; daughters, Tabitha Barrett of Athens, Trisha Barrett of Demorest and Brittney Barrett of Homer; sisters, Nita Ivester of Turnerville and Rita Thomann of Ellenwood, GA; 14 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services are 2:00 pm Friday, October 07, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Ricky Casper officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour on Friday.
