William Dudley “Bill” Horton, age 90 of Clarkesville, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
Born in Burnsville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clifford and Rosa Lie Cassida Horton. Mr. Horton enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking, and splitting wood. He served his county proudly at the end of World War II in the Navy as a Seabee. Mr. Horton was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, PCA where he served as an Elder for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Styles Horton; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steven Dudley and Dani Horton of Smyrna; son, William David Horton of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Julia & Greg Satterfield of Smyrna; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Hobie Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Gardens Cemetery with military honors provided.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home.
